FAQ's about our band program and music lessons
Do I have to be really good to join?
We expect kids to know how to play their instrument but they do not have to be any more than a beginner to join. We offer private lessons for those who need to start on an instrument.
Can I join with my friends?
Yes, we keep kids together if they request it. There is a place on the registration form to enter names of others with whom you would like to play.
Can I join any time?
We have 3 semesters throughout the year (Spring Jan-Apr, Summer May-Aug, Fall Sept-Dec.) New students need to join at the beginning of a new semester. We have a window of a few weeks for people to be added but then roll new entries over until the next semester.
Do bands only play rock?
Over the years we have included everything from jazz to country to showtunes. Most of what gets chosen is rock.
What is the cost?
We charge by the month. The fall and spring semesters are 4 months and the summer is only 3. The cost is $120 per month. Once enrolled you will be responsible for the remainder of monthly payments for the semester.
When and where do we practice?
Practices are held in the evenings at Flat Iron Recording at 505 Kansas City St in Rapid City SD.
